STAHL IS OUR INDOOR MVP
Owen Stahl was amazing in all five of our indoor meets.
This meet was no exception.
On a night where we, as a team, were flat, Owen ran a PR 1:58.9 in the 4x8 and 52.5 in the 4x4.
1:58.9 puts Owen #6 Pntrack All Time
Ryan Maseman 1:54.3
Omar Paramo 1:57.4
Austin Stone 1:57.6
Andrew Karas 1:57.8
Josh Bedford 1:58.3
OWEN STAHL 1:58.9
Cooper Shelton 1:59.0
Ian Morrison 1:59.1
Andrew Sandoval 1:59.5
Jack Anderson 1:59.8
Every top-ten time performance with the exception of Owen Stahl was run outdoors in May.
What will Owen run in May?
4x8 GETS 2ND
We ran one second slower than we did at the Mustang Relays.
PRs by Owen Stahl (1:58.9) and Ewan Farnum (2:05.9)
We end the indoor season IL #9
TOUGH LUCK FOR DEMIR
A nightmare of a block start (long story) resulted in Demir Ashiru placing last in the 60HH.
Demir finishes IL 3A #8 in the 55 HH
4x2 DISAPPOINTMENT
When you have a top-flight track program, expectations are always high.
We all believed this team could put it together and run 1:31-something.
It didn’t happen.
Our best time of the year was 1:34.54 (IL 3A #34)
We placed 9th at Top Times, 1st through 8th wins medals.
At our past five Top Times, we ran 1:31 in every one of them (no meet in the two Covid years).
2016 1:31.19
2017 1:31.69
2018 1:31.43
2019 1:31.65
2022 1:31.65
1:34 leaves us hungry for the outdoor season.
We can also be hungry to return to Top Times next year… Pauly, Brennan, Gramley, and Patterson will return next season!
4x4 WINS MEDAL WITH SEASON-BEST TIME
However, like the 4x2, our expectations were much, much higher.
This team, even though all underclassmen, was more than capable of running 3:29.
Our time of 3:32.03 ranks IL 3A #17 and we placed 7th at Top Times.
Six teams in Plainfield North’s 16 year history have run better
3:28.19
3:29.38
3:29.57
3:29.95
3:30.53
3:30.94
We won the 4x4 at Top Times last year running 3:29.57
We will return all four guys plus Alex Brennan.
BRENNAN ENDS INDOOR ON HIGH NOTE
What a story.
Calf problems forced Alex Brennan out of the D-Crew and into the sprint group.
Alex was not good enough to make our opening roster at Lakes.
At Top Times, he gets a spot on our 4x2 and 30 minutes later runs a PR 52.96 in the open 400.
52.96 puts Alex #10 Pntrack All-Time in the indoor 400.
BURNS 5TH
Eight days earlier Oliver Burns broke our school record in the 3200, running 9:22.21, IL 3A #8
Oliver didn’t have the same stuff at Top Times, running 8 seconds slower and placing 5th.
Cross Country #5 in 3A, Oliver Burns will have a great outdoor season.
THE BEST NEWS HAPPENED IN THE A.M.
The rest of our squad traveled to Proviso and won a 14-team invitational.
We might be one of the deepest teams in the state.
We might be one of the best young teams in the state.
We have so much to look forward to!
