Danbury, CT — RYWC took to the mat on Saturday in our league's season finale, the Western CT Elementary & Middle School Championship. 29 of our 50 club members competed and I am proud to say we took home 3rd place as a team. This is the third consecutive Western Championship the RYWC has placed, but certainly the first time we relied so heavily on our brand new wrestlers. What a testament to their dedication this season. A special shout out to our Middle School team who completely dominated the 6th-8th grade group. We doubled the nearest teams finalists and although that proves the future is bright for the high school, it's also with a heavy heart as we say goodbye to 6 amazing 8th graders who have been a huge part of our program over the years.
