Jackson, MI — Hanover Horton Varsity Bowling participated in Senior night. It was exciting to see the proud faces of parents as their athlete's bio was read telling about the fun times, education, and work goals they have set. Coach is excited for your futures as I hope we can stay connected so I can cheer you on through life. Afterwards we had a match today against the Trojans from East Jackson at Jax60. The team made up of Halle Curtis, Sophia Donders, Madison Ashworth, Lana Gilliland, Kaytie Warren, Makenzie LaFountain, and Elle Decker came out strong but with a few open frames late in the first baker as we found ourselves coming up short and down 4 points. The girls rallied though, won the second baker and totals, Comets up 6 to 4! EJ has improved much since our last visit but our team is perfecting a balanced attach which makes an advantage for our opponent difficult to find. With that said we won the two team games and totals only giving up 4 points. Comets win 22-8! High games go to Kaytie Warren 195, Madison Ashworth 176, and Sophia Donders with a 164 game! Go Comets!! #proudcoach #statebound2023 On Senior night at Jax60, these 6 Seniors (Elijah Rodabaugh, Landon Murrell, Nick Shuette, Sebastian Ramsey, Jack Kittel and Lucas Cain) were recognized before our match against East Jackson. Hanover Boys were looking to revenge an earlier season loss to the Trojans of East Jackson. Hanover came out strong in the first baker but couldn’t hold off the Trojans, loosing both Bakers. Being down 10-0 the Comets again started strong in match play 1 but only came away with 2 individual points and loosing total pins by 31. Going into match play 2, Hanover was looking to finish strong taking 7 points and the bonus 2 points for total match play pins. Hanover boys were defeated 11-19. Hanover was lead by Joe Davis 189 (347) and Sebastian Ramsey 203 (357). Next match is Wednesday against Michigan Center at Suburban Lanes. Congrats to all our Seniors.
