Wrestling with an injury is not an easy thing to do but it can show us how to overcome an adversity. Cain has bounced back with a ferocious love for this sport and has shown determination and desire to succeed! That grit earned him a 4th place medal this weekend.

Gunnar Bleeker

Gunnar had several breakout matches that showcased all that he has learned this season and earned him his first Varsity Medal of the season

Ella Kavanagh

This young lady had a dynamic tournament that tested her experience and ability to go deep into a match to pull out a victory. This was also Ella's first Varsity Medal (4th) of the season as well as Douglas' first Girl to Medal at the Vaquero Classic. She was also one of only 2 girls on the podium this year!

Victor Valdez

Coming into this season at the 144lbs weight class and slowly, diligently working his way down to 126lbs has paid dividends for this Senior and was able to work his way through a 32man bracket to secure 4th place.

Tigers Rock it in Fernley!

Fernley, NV — Tigers placed 4th as a team this weekend at the Vaquero classic and that only begins to tell the story of a team that nursed their bumps, bruises and ailments to earn 8 medals. Dalton Nixon Pinned quickly in his final match to pick up 5th place. Placing 4th Ella, Gunnar, Victor, and Caine they each had to overcome their own adversity in this tournament to have their best showings of the season. Jaxon Nixon took a 3rd place victory over an opponent that knocked him down to consolation in the Quarterfinals. Topping off the Tiger bling are Aaron and Sage earning some hard fought 2nd Place medals. This is the final Varsity tournament of the season and give the Tigers some positive lessons to take in to Carson Week!
