Belmont, MI — Mya Baldwin and Kyleigh Thomson led the way for the Scots at the Norm's GS Invitational at Cannonsburg Ski Area on Saturday. This was the first year for the new format for the race and the team scoring was a big hit due to the limited racing opportunities for high school teams this season. "It has been a crazy winter and we have struggled to get in training at our home resort. Thankfully my team has been able to train up north each week. It also shows the dedication that these athletes have when they chose to leave Caledonia at 6:15am on a weekend to drive two and half hours north to train at an option practice and most of my 31 kids attend each weekend. I am so proud of their hard work and thankful for the support of their parents, who drive them all over the place so they can practice and compete." Coach Petrosky "Everyone's effort makes this a great team to coach---these kids are the best!" The girls team took 8th place at the race but learned a lot that they will be able to use in future races. Leading the way were Mya Baldwin (15th place), Kyleigh Thompson (28th place), Liz HIlton (39th place), and Erin Peckham (41st place). The JV / B team did not have enough girls to meet the team requirement at this race. Katie Honhart led the group with a 22nd place finish. In the middle school race, our lone female competitor, Maggie Koopsman place 9th place.
