There is no other way to put today's results other than it was a very hard way to end the season. We felt like our preparation this week was fantastic and we really liked where we were going into today's race. Course conditions and wind made it very hard on all runners significantly slowing down all races times. Conditions play a vital role in determining PRs and today's course conditions were not optimal to run a PR in. Brendan Martling was our only PR today at Regionals. Well done Brendan! We did not have any runners qualify for the State Cross Country Meet. Today is the end of our season. As I type up this end of the season recap I want all runners to know that Coach Ford along with myself are extremely proud of all of you. We have come so far this season and have made a lot of improvement! We not only improved upon our race times as the season progressed, but we also had a lot of fun! There is never a dull moment on the Goddard Cross Country team! We can't thank you all enough for the hard work you put in this season/summer and being such a great group to work with. Parents thank you for being flexible with us and being patient as I personally navigated being a first time dad to my newborn daughter during our season. Cohen Fyfe - 24:48 - 22:26 - 2 minute 22 second improvement from first race at ClearWater. Cole Bennington - 30:02 - 24:13 - 5 minute 49 second improvement from first race at ClearWater. Brendan Martling - 22:43 - 21:48 - 55 seconds faster than first race at ClearWater. Lions many of you improved by over a minute from your last season PR if not more! As we go into Track Season this Spring / Summer Conditioning next Summer let this be motivation for our team going forward! If we can make these types of improvements / more next season other schools better watch out! This season we were still very young with our team predominately made up of Sophomores and Freshmen. As we move into next year your bodies will continue to mature/get stronger allowing us to run faster times! Next year will be our time to truly see what we have! I will be sending out information in the near future in regards to our team banquet. I envision this happening after Thanksgiving Break.
