Grass lake , MI — We played in the final jamboree of the year today. This was on the front 9 at Calderone golf club. The wind was really whipping around today. It is usually windy there but more so than normal. Today was a perfect example of why I put such an emphasis on last weeks play. We created a great cushion by winning 3 times which made this a stress free event. 4 point lead was pretty much insurmountable. We won the jamboree portion of the season. Next is the conference tournament. We will start that with 6 points towards our total and depending on where we finish that will determine the conference champion. This puts a lot of emphasis on one tournament but I have confidence in the girls to come through!!! I certainly believe they can and will play better than what they did today. They are all capable of scoring low and Sharp Park golf course is much easier than what we played today. We also have 5 girls that are in the running for honorable mention and all conference. This is a running average of their jamboree scores and the conference tournament will count as 2 nine hole scores. I look forward to watching them perform on Tuesday. I can tell they want to finish the season strong and bring home a conference championship!!!! It certainly would be something to be very proud of!!! We are coming to the fun part of the year where all the work the last 8 weeks gets recognized. Conference meet, Regional meet and with a little luck….a birth in the State Meet!!!!!
