Recap
Michigan Center, MI — Day 2 of our back to back tour was another successful day full of personal records and important points!!! We competed in our 5th jamboree at Lakeland hills golf course. Wide open course with good size greens and fairly flat considering where we were at Wednesday.
Today the ladies won another jamboree!!! We shot 206 which is the low for the year. These ladies don’t cease to amaze and surprise me. From Ella coming 2 feet from an ace (and yes she made the birdie putt) to Sophia sprinting to tell me she was playing so well and doesn’t know why!!! They both had personal best scores today. Sophia carded a 51 for a tie for 7th place. It’s such a joy to watch her improve and contribute to our success!! Ella shot a 50 for a tie for 3rd which is 10 strokes better than her best as far back as I can remember. She is driving the ball with confidence and power……sorry to the MC coach for hitting it into your cart!!! He was 200 yards away!!!
Summer also carded a 50 for a tie for 3rd. Had a Summer type of round. Consistent in not posting a big score on a hole and solid from tee to green. If she hits a bad shot….guarantee she forgot about it before it stops rolling!!! Danni was the 4th lady to score for us today. She battled to a 55 despite some adversity in her round. Think she started 3 holes hitting 3 off the tee . She hits it a long way with a hard draw. Sometimes too much of a draw!!!
Drew is battling through a sore back and is looking forward to some much needed rest. Trying to play golf with a sore back is not any fun at all. Hard to concentrate and swing!!! I look for her to rebound and contribute heavily on the home stretch.
Abby carded her lowest round yet!!! The kid has improved so much from the start of the season. Only thing we gotta work on now is getting her a phone that doesn’t double as a kickball and allows her to score electronically!!! I tell her it looks like it went through a blender!! She has got the most infectious attitude. Such a joy to teach!!!
In conclusion….we have a much deserved break from matches. Our 6th jamboree is Wednesday next week. We go into it with a 4 point lead for the first part of our conference season. I am so proud of what they have accomplished so far but they aren’t done yet……….
Stay tuned!!!!!!!!!
