Jackson , MI — Good afternoon everyone!!! What a perfect day to spend at the golf course. Not overly hot at all today. Today the girls hosted the first jamboree of the season at Cadcades Golf Course. The course was in great shape for play. We played the back nine which is the shorter of the 2 but also less margin for error with the trees and water!!! As a team we finished Second place to East Jackson. Danni Swihart was the low score on the team with a 51. She was on track for a mid 40’s round but ran into some water trouble. Next was Drew Swihart with a 57. As many of you know with golf, some days are tougher than others. Today was one of those days for Drew but I expect she will rebound from what should be her high round for the year. Next score that counted was Summer Barnaby. She finished with a 62. Again, golf can be a cruel sport sometimes. She had a day that wasn’t bad but she expects more from herself and is capable of scoring better. I suspect she will improve on her score greatly. The final score that counted was Ella Dekker. She carded a 67. Minus her first 3 holes of the day she played well. She managed to get past a rough start and played consistent after that. Again, I suspect there will be improvements in future matches. Abby Barnaby and Sophie Donders also competed today. Abby carded a 78 on the day and Sophie had a 79. I saw a lot of good thing from these 2 today and I believe they will improve greatly in the weeks to come. Their attitudes are outstanding and are a pleasure to coach.
