Defense and a Strong Pitching Staff Performance Secures the Split in Toledo
The Barons displayed a full team effort for the win in game two of Sunday's double header. Benny Dottle, Shane Cato, and Isaac Criss worked together to keep the Hawks to only three runs. The Barons bats fought out the gate putting up runs when needed to keep the momentum. Chase Tomko was lights out at the plate going 2 for 3 with a blast off the wall and an RBI. Defensively Caelan Bender and Nathan Meeks put on a show up the middle with Bender having 6 PO’s himself and Nathan flashing his leather up the middle to halt any edge The Hawks were trying to gain. Great team weekend in Toledo, next game is Wednesday against the Creekside Crocs at Pemberton Park in Youngstown, Ohio.
