SHEPHERD, MI — These beauties took home 2nd last night in Shepherd out of 9 Varsity total and 5 in their division! They put it all out on the mat for the first time this season and I had a blast watching them do it. Was it perfect? Absolutely not! BUT Round 1 was straight 🔥 Round 2 was the first time in our 5 years with program that we were able to put back walkovers into our round (huge deal and thank you Skye High Gymnastics Center for all of the work you have put into our ladies) Round 3 showed us what we’re made of. We had only ran that round 4 times total, and just finished choreography on Thursday. We fumbled. A lot. More than the 4x previously ran. Nerves, adrenaline- all the things. Guess what? THEY KEPT GOING! 🤗🥲 and I couldn’t ask for more than for them to fight for every point they had left and to never quit. That’s how we learn- We have a great foundation for season that we can continue to build from and I’m ecstatic to see where it leads! ALSO Our Gaylord Middle School team has been given the opportunity to compete this season and they blew us away! They took FIRST out of 2 MS teams and man were us coaches full of pride to see almost 30 strong in our competitive program on the mats last night!
