Oscoda, MI — The Grayling Wrestlers went 2-2 on the day winning matches against Alpena 45-24 and Beaverton 39-22. The Wrestlers lost a nail bitter to Gaylord B team 42-42 (lost of the 6th criteria) and lost to Whittemore-Prescott 54-30. Logan Malonen and Yeng Xiong went 4-0 on the day. Caleb Baker, Kylie Berringer, Jake Huspen and Braiden Tuck went 3-1. Mandy Andrews, Marcus Chard and Hunter Strohaver went 2-2. Grayling had four wrestlers that wrestled for a combined team. Tucker Strohaver went 3-1. Jacob Carnes and Francesco Ferrari went 2-2. Also scoring team points today were Dakota Martin and George McClusky. Overall great day for our team. We got big wins today from different wrestlers..and they were Kylie and Yeng, each with a big win against Alpena. Braiden with a come from behind pin against Gaylord and also Hunter Strohaver with a huge first period pin against Gaylord. Dakota with a grind it out 17-10 win against Beaverton. The Wrestlers are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Ogemaw Heights to take on Alpena and Ogemaw.
