Mya had the opportunity to be the very first girl on both courses today, which is a tough task and she really skied well earning her first medal. She is sophomore and really grew as a skier today by overcoming a tough second slalom run to score in the top ten in giant slalom.

The Caledonia Girls bring home some hardware
Thompsonville, MI —
"Our girls really skied well at the Benzie! Barbie, Evie and Mya ended up bringing home medals and our other skiers really did well at the race. The girls are really skiing well right now on the big hills against teams that are ranked in the state right. State ranked GR Christian has great team and so do Onekama & Benzie, so it made for a competitive race. Benzie edged us by .5pts to take third but regardless of the outcome our team learned some valuable lessons at the race today."

Benzie Invitational

The Benzie Central Bryan Groenevelt Memorial Invitational is held at Crystal Mountain in the memory of Bryan Groenevelt a local ski racer who tragically died while racing at Crystal Mountain. The race features some of the same teams from the Cadillac Invitational and a few more of the strong ski programs from up north and the Grand Rapids area.
