Thompsonville, MI — The Benzie Central Bryan Groenevelt Memorial Invitational is held at Crystal Mountain in the memory of Bryan Groenevelt a local ski racer who tragically died while racing at Crystal Mountain. The race features some of the same teams from the Cadillac Invitational and a few more of the strong ski programs from up north and the Grand Rapids area. Caledonia returned to the teams participating in the Benzie in 2018 and has really enjoyed the experience of racing in 12 team regional style Invitational. The Scots have done well and are expected to have a strong showing this year. This year Caledonia may have the opportunity to race its Varsity and its Varsity B teams, which will give more of its young racers a chance to compete on the steeper slopes of Crystal Mountain.
