Recap
Newton, KS — October 16, 2021
AVCTL - Division 2 Schools: Andover, Andover Central, Arkansas City, Eisenhower, Goddard, Salina Central, and Valley Center
Today Goddard competed in the AVCTL League Meet and posted some wonderful results! 10/17 of our runners ran their best time and PR'd! Olivia Brownell took home some hardware today and placed 11th overall in the AVCTL Division 2! She earned a medal and will also receive 2nd team AVCTL honors! The AVCTL League Meet presented itself as a challenge to our runners where everyone was forced to perform at maximum effort. Throughout our season we have had the youngest team by far compared to other schools with no Seniors on either varsity team. The experience our runners gained today at such a fast league meet will only benefit our program going forward. From a coaching standpoint I am extremely proud of our runners for the grit, courage, and determination they all showed today! For some of our runners this was their last meet of the season. I cannot thank you all enough for the work you put in over the summer and throughout this season. Varsity runners you will have practice next week as we prepare for Regionals in Great Bend, Kansas.
Race results/times are posted below.
JV Girls
Today Senior Piper Hartzler (28:13) ran her fastest race of her High School Career and PR'd! I cannot say enough about Piper's character and how much she means to this team. Today was her last race of her High School Career and I couldn't be more proud of her.

The top Varsity Girl's time at today's race was a 20:20. Freshman Olivia has gained much experience this year and will look to take that experience into her future races/years.
Varsity Boys
In the Varsity Boys race we had some very solid performances today and PR's! Goddard once against fielded the youngest team in the field at our League Meet. These boys have such a bright future ahead of them and have gained some very valuable experience as freshmen.
