Goddard, KS — September 23, 2021, Goddard High competed in our home meet at Lake Afton! It was a fantastic day to race and the team posted some wonderful results! We had a lot of PR's today and many of our runners who ran better times than their last race. For some of our runners this was their first 5K of the season! Hosting a CC meet takes a lot of effort and it was a busy day. Assistant Coach Travis Ford didn't wreck the gator today driving the course and did a phenomenal job! ;) Thank you to all the parents who helped out/athletes who helped clean up the facilities. It was a true team effort today and I am so proud of everyone. Below are the results for each race. JV Girls Our two JV girls Piper and Maxine competed in their first 5K of the season and will look to improve next week at Halstead! 34th: Piper Hartzler - 32:23 39th: Maxine Bartnick - 33:51 JV Boys The JV Boys team took 8th place overall. Jack Allen led the way for the JV team and posted a time of 22:39 better than his last race. Mason Lott, James Alexander, Owen Granados, Caleb Blackwood, Cooper Hudson, and Adam Vincent all competed in their first 5K of the season! Our preparation this week definitely paid off and it showed today. As a team we placed 6th. A lot of our runners ran either a PR or faster than our last race at Buhler! After our performance today everyone should be very encouraged with where we are as a team and the direction we are heading! Each week we have been improving! I am very excited for Halstead next week and know we will run faster than we did today and improve once again!
