Gobles, MI — The Caledonia ski teams traveled to Timber Ridge Ski Area for the first SWMSC race of the season Wednesday. The girls team is competing in a very tough field of teams and ended up taking third in the race. "My girls really skied well tonight. We have been skiing very consistently and our scores have been great but tonight we were just not fast enough to pull off the win. Coming into the season we knew that there were three teams(Portage, Mattawan and Caledonia) that were very close and that Plainwell/TK was gaining on everyone which would make this year's girls competition fun to follow." Coach Petrosky "My team has been relying on our first four flights to carry the team and when they ski well our team excels but we are starting to see the other flights with our newer skiers make gains that will help us moving forward." Mattawan 59pts Portage. 60pts Caledonia 85pts Plainwell/TK. 118pts K-United. 135pts The Scots were led by seniors Emily Dean (5th GS & 8th SL) and Danielle Miron (10th SL & 16th GS), juniors Evie Schlett( 12th GS & 12 SL) and Barbie DeGood (9th SL) and freshman Mya Baldwin (13th SL), who scored her first varsity points. In Varisty B, the Caledonia Team showed improvement in their skill and ended up 3rd in the meet. Leading the way for the B team was Kyleigh Thompson (3rd in GS), Adia Whisler (6th in GS).
